POSTSCRIPT

Since I wrote this book back in the 'eighties there has been a lot of negative publicity focused on Sai Baba, including various allegations of molestation of minors, fakery and the misappropriation of funds.

To date none of these allegations have been proven. They remain no more than allegations.

So far as this writer is concerned, I have absolutely no reason to believe any of these allegations. They are not in my own experience. My experience of Baba is that of a kind, caring spiritual teacher, a Mahapurusha (great person).

My own ongoing experience of Sai Baba is a subjective, personal one which is today more akin to a deep friendship than one of an adulatory follower. If the language I have used in this book is sometimes flowery then I can only attribute that to an early sense of delight and discovery which has, over the years, settled into something more deeply lasting.

The book is published here as it was written twenty years ago.

I can only say to those who doubt and who might choose to listen to negative voices: always find out matters for yourself; don't depend on the hearsay of others. The only and ultimate path to take is one of self-awakening. If this book should in any way help those along that path then I shall consider it to have served some valid purpose.
